In the process of large-area cotton production, premature aging occurs almost every year, leading to different degrees of cotton yield reduction. The causes of premature aging are of course multifaceted, but among many factors, fertilization has the greatest correlation.

Through the summary of the experience and lessons of transgenic hybrid insect-resistant cotton in recent years, we have realized that: First, the transgenic hybrid cotton has a higher demand for potassium fertilizer than conventional hybrid cotton, and the absorption and conversion rate of potassium fertilizer is slower. Insufficient amount is easy to express the symptoms of potassium deficiency; secondly, there are many old cotton fields, and there are few new cotton fields. The soil organic matter content in cotton fields is not high. The third is that many farmers are accustomed to partial nitrogen fertilizer and neglect to apply potassium fertilizer. I don't know that excessive nitrogen fertilizer will cause cotton to grow too nutritiously and cause premature aging. Fourth, I mistakenly believe that compound fertilizer contains potassium fertilizer, and no longer apply potassium fertilizer. Fifth, I don't know enough about the relationship between potassium fertilizer and cotton growth.

Increased application of potassium fertilizer can improve the ability to defend against cotton wilt, and the incidence of strains is significantly reduced; second, it can enhance the cotton production stamina and prevent premature aging; three can increase the number of bolls per plant; four can increase the boll weight by 0.5 to 1.2 g, and the sputum is smooth. Good quality; five can strengthen the anti-falling function of cotton plants.

To this end, in the middle and late management of cotton, it is necessary to emphasize the application of potash fertilizer, first, to ensure that the amount of potassium applied per mu is not less than 30 kg, such as the application of potassium chloride with 60% potassium oxide per mu. Not less than 30 kg, compound fertilizer has been applied, because the potassium content of potassium in compound fertilizer can be reduced; secondly, half of the fertilizer and topdressing are better in the fertilization period, and no potassium fertilizer is applied in the base fertilizer. Apply 20 kg per mu, and apply 10 kg in the flowering and bolling period; thirdly, the application method should be combined with nitrogen and phosphorus fertilizers, and the bud stage combined with the cultivating and cultivating soil to open the ditch.
