Trinseo (TSE), a global provider of plastics, latex binders and synthetic rubber materials, announced that its EMERGETM resin will be used in the Currant Smart Outlet smart home products from consumer electronics company Currant.

By using smart sockets and corresponding mobile terminal applications, consumers can get the power usage details of smart home products, as well as personalized recommendations from artificial intelligence (AI) to help consumers reduce energy consumption.

At the trial stage, Trinseo has been supplying EMERGETM Advanced Resins to Currant, which is currently in production. EMERGETM Advanced Resins are used in the entire range of products, from the outer casing to the internal components.

Trinity EMERGETM Advanced Resin is a special class of compound that uses the company's proprietary CALIBRETM polycarbonate resin.

Tony Kam, a technology research and development expert in the Technical Services and Development Department of the Tsing Yi Factory in Hong Kong, said: "This special application demonstrates the versatility of Trinseo CALIBRETM polycarbonate resin as a base material. These materials are designed to meet every Specifications for parts or components, including design and weight requirements, UL safety standards and aesthetics."

Currant chose Trinseo for a variety of reasons, including the company's sample inventory program, the ability to provide technical service support from prototype to mass production, and the ability to seamlessly coordinate support between North America and Asia Pacific.

In addition, Currant chose Shengyu's other reason for the company's color matching capabilities (including the realization of super bright white). Trinseo has a color laboratory in Hsinchu, Taiwan, and recently acquired a new color matching capability by acquiring the Italian thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) manufacturer API Applicazioni Plastiche Industriali SpA (API) to truly distinguish it from other companies in the market. .
