Coal gangue is China's largest industrial solid waste, with the country’s largest stock of billions of tons, and it occupies arable land and pollutes the environment. However, with the increasingly mature technologies such as circulating bed boilers in the past 10 years, this kind of low calorific coal solid waste has been widely included in future power generation plans at the national and local levels.

According to the “Notice on Accelerating the Healthy Development of Low-calorific Coal-fired Power Generation Industry” issued by the National Energy Administration, by 2015, the installed capacity of low-heat-value coal solid waste including coal gangue will reach 76 million kilowatts, and the annual consumption of coal with low calorific value will be low. About 300 million tons of waste.

According to industry sources, as coal resources become increasingly scarce, the importance of coal gangue and other low-value coal solid wastes in the power generation fuel structure will continue to be prominent, and large-capacity, high-yield and super-critical will be the mainstream of coal gangue power generation in the future. .
