Yantai to promote the use of solar insect killer next year

On the 10th, the reporter learned from the relevant meeting in Yantai that, starting in January 2013, the county and the city as the units, in accordance with the requirements of pollution-free technical standards, prohibit the use of highly toxic and high-risk pesticides. In addition, solar insecticidal lamps will be widely promoted.

It is understood that the application of insecticidal lamps has been started in Fuping and Penglai. Among them, Penglai City has invested more than 600 solar insecticidal lamps, and each lamp can “cover” 30 acres of orchards. Chen Jianzhuang, head of the Industrialization Section of the Agricultural Bureau of Penglai City, said that moths and insects all have phototaxis. The insecticidal lamp absorbs sunlight during the day and the insecticidal lamp emits light at night. It can trap and kill fruit tree pests and reduce or even eliminate the use of pesticides.
