National CBM extraction volume increased 9% year-on-year

The National Energy Administration released data on the 31st. In the first three quarters of this year, the country's coalbed methane (coal mine methane) drainage volume was 12.6 billion cubic meters, and the utilization volume was 5.5 billion cubic meters, an increase of 9% and 14% year-on-year respectively.

According to statistics, the output of surface CBM is 2.7 billion cubic meters, and the utilization volume is 2.2 billion cubic meters; the underground coal mine gas extraction volume is 9.9 billion cubic meters and the utilization volume is 3.3 billion cubic meters.

The National Energy Administration stated that with the rapid growth of the utilization of coalbed methane (coal gas), the national gas accidents in coal mines have shown a sharp decline.

It is understood that the main component of coalbed methane is methane, an unconventional natural gas that is stored in the coal seam in an adsorbed state, and is a coal associated mineral resource. CBM can be used as civilian fuels, industrial fuels, power generation fuels, automotive fuels, and important chemical raw materials, and is widely used. At the same time, coal seam gas extraction before coal mining can significantly reduce the gas explosion rate of coal mines.
