Total demand for pesticides in Hubei increased slightly

The reporter learned from Hubei Province Plant Protection Station that in 2012, the main crop diseases and insect pests in Hubei Province showed a general trend of moderate emphasis, among which the stem borer, rice sheath blight, and rape sclerotinia disease were the most serious. Therefore, experts predict that the total demand for pesticides in Hubei this year will increase slightly from last year.

Forecasts show that wheat in the main producing areas of head blight, sheath blight, powdery mildew, wheat spiders, wheat aphids, wheat armyworm showed a trend of more than 3 levels, local up to 5 levels, the overall area of ​​about 3750 million mu.

On the rice, aphids, rice planthoppers, rice borers, rice thrips, and rice straw rod fly all occurred at grade 4 or higher. Among them, the occurrence areas of the two stem borer and rice borer borer were 30 million mu and 4 million mu, respectively. There are 40 million mu of rice leaf roller and rice planthopper, and rice blast disease also has an outbreak risk. The area of ​​occurrence is about 3 million to 6 million mu, and the area of ​​sheath blight is about 28 million mu.

Diseases and insect pests on cotton, corn, citrus, vegetables, and tea trees also have an upward trend.

Plant Protection Station of Hubei Province has reminded all localities to seize the opportunity to organize prevention and control. At present, the main pesticide species in the province is in sufficient supply. The price of rice pesticide in the province has not changed much compared with the same period of last year, and some new and high-end pesticide products gradually occupy a larger market share. The demand for high-efficiency and low-intensity insecticides increased, the demand for acaricides remained stable, the demand for fungicides increased slightly, and the demand for high-quality light plant protection devices was relatively large.
