Zhongwang CAD/CAM Tutorial: Zhongwang 3D and Tribon M3 Data Interaction

Zhongwang 3D is a cost-effective CAD/CAM software. It has a reliable data conversion function, which can realize two-way data exchange in Zhongwang 3D. This is done through a series of data interfaces. Through these seamless interfaces, you can ensure that there is no data loss in the exchange of various data formats. At present, Zhongwang 3D supports CATIA V4, CATIA V5, NX (UG), Pro/ENGINEER, Autodesk Invertor and AutoCAD, SolidWorks\ACIS, Parasolid, STL, STEP, IGES type format input and Parasolid format export.

Below we will combine the data interaction between Zhongwang 3D and professional design software Tribon M3 to understand the practical application of Zhongwang 3D's 3D CAD software in the ship industry data interaction.

Because Tribon is a professional software based on the design of hull structure, it integrates CAD/CAM/MIS, which is convenient for the design of hull structure and powerful. However, for some special complicated structures such as rudder structure steel castings, the design of the parts such as the tail shaft shell, there is no way to start. Therefore, it is necessary to use the professional 3D CAD software to look at 3D for production-assisted design, so as to design accurate and ideal products in a short period of time. Next, we first realize the data interaction with Tribon by outputting the VRML format in Zhongwang 3D.

Find "Output" in the "File" menu of Zhongwang 3D, and directly select the input format "VRML": for file output.

Select the VOLUME->IMPORT-VRML function item of the DRAFTING module in Tribon M3:

After the following menu appears, select the VRML file output from the 3D in the middle, and import the file to realize data interaction.

Note: This feature is not recommended in Tribon M3 due to the large file size after import.

Next, we will use the second method: output the SAT format in Zhongwang 3D to realize data interaction with Tribon.

Find "TransMagic" in the "Application" menu of Zhongwang 3D and directly select the input format "SAT": for file output.

In the Tribon M3 program in the Start menu of the desktop, select the IMPORT ACIS MODEL function:

When the following menu appears, select the SAT file output from the 3D, name the file, and finally set the scale and click Enter.

Open DRAFTING in Tribon M3 Select VOLUME –>open Select the volume file (H-28A) when the following menu appears.

In just a few simple steps, the Tribon M3 was successfully imported into the casting shape of the 3D output. Is it very convenient?
