Dutch scientists develop 3D printed nanomaterials with color separation

Dichroic glass, which has been passed down through centuries for the treatment of various colors of metal oxides, is also called dichroic glass. It is also called dichroic glass, and it has multiple colors from different angles. A research team from Wageningen University in the Netherlands has recently developed a synthetic nanomaterial to create a 3D printed object with a color separation effect.

The research team mixed gold nanoparticles with different diameters in polyvinyl alcohol (PVA, a common 3D printing medium material), and the prepared synthetic PVA material was finally used to manufacture 3D printed objects, which had the effect similar to the color separation glass material. Observation from different angles can see that 3D printed objects (such as goblets) show different colors. If the observer and the light source are on the same side of the 3D printed object, the 3D printed object appears opaque brown, and when the light source passes through this When an object enters the observer's eyes, it will be transparent purple.

The scientific research team is still trying to add different nanoparticle materials to PVA materials, will it produce more wonderful color separation 3D printed materials. The research paper was published in the journal "Belstein Journal of Nanotechnology".
